Boys Varsity Cross Country · Cross-Country Summer Running


The girls and boys cross-country teams will be meeting Monday – Friday at 8:00am for summer running.  Meet by the track.

Use this opportunity to put in those base miles before the season begins or to try out the sport if you are unsure whether running is for you.  There will be all ability and experience levels attending.


This summer and during the fall Cross Country season – coaches will be sending out important information via text messaging.  It is very important for all runners to please sign up for text alerts – there is a text alert for each team (Boys and Girls)

Some suggestions for a successful summer of running!

  1. Pick a summer milage goal – make sure you pick a goal you think you can meet – if you have questions about what goal to pick – email Coach Torvi – ( or Coach McGrew (

  2. try to run 5 days a week

  3. Log your milage on the training log and on the googledoc

  4. Try to make as many team practices as you can!  If you can’t make a team practice – get out and run on your own!

Coach McGrew put together a calendar of suggested runs for the summer.  We both suggest you print a copy to help you reach your summer milage goals!   Also added is a list of some exercises to help prevent some of the common running injuries!
